Folding@Home Daily Stats (10-Nov-2002) - Welcome, eje, Jeff7, and rasmus!

Sorry about the late stats, but my parents decided to screw up my schedule last night by demanding that I go to bed a bit earlier than usual. Thus, I didn't have time to get these stats completed last night. I'll start posting the stats earlier in the evening from now on, to hopefully eliminate the possibility of this happening again. 🙁

Thanx for the update Josh, and a BIG welcome to the new members!
Has anyone come across the p610_tetp30 FU's(wu's) with 200 frames!? They are worth 7 points, but on my older P3-700, it takes 30+ hrs to finish..... Not sure it's worth the time to point ratio, for me anyway...

🙂

welcome to the new ppl, good to have you onboard.

yes, r0tt3n1 I got a couple of those 200 frame pups ....nice payout...but takes a while.

I've finished 3 of them at this point, and both of my systems each have another p610_tetP30 that they're working on now. My 912MHz overclocked Duron can do them in about 29 hours, while my 500MHz Celeron does them in about 3.4 days. 🙁

PS: Once, a long time ago, I got a 10 frame FU; it took several hours to do one of the frames, though. Has anybody gotten one of these weird ones recently?

tnx for stats jliechty and welcome to new members!

one p200 unit just finished (and its realy big) 🙂

Thanks for the stats jliecthy.

Welcome to all the new members 🙂

Does anyone know how to upload results by hand?

I got 8 WU's in an Athlon XP 2100+ that don't seem to want to leave the computer :| And the F@H client although is downloading new WU's doesn't seem to want to add those 8 WU's to my personal and to the TeAm's stats :|

I assume you know about the send -all switch? If that doesn't work, I don't know what would (unfortunately, F@H doesn't have a manual upload page like ECCp-109 did). Unfortunately, I've had to delete a "stuck" unit that had been there for weeks out of my queue at one time.

I've tried to use the -send all switch today and it didn't work either :|

I went to the Folding Forums but I didn't have time to post a question or to read similar topics, maybe tomorrow I'll try emailing them WU's up to Stanford.

Well, if you're already running UD and happy with it, by all means please do keep running it. But if you want to switch to Folding@Home instead, we'd be glad to have you on the TeAm.

Yeah, I've working on one right now. Out of the 4 WU's I've done for the TeAm, 2 were like this. Good grief.

Peace.

sometimes the switch "-send all" just wont work, then i leave the client to downloading and working on new wu's and usualy after 3-4 wu's max. it works again, but that with 8 wu's is not right!
keep trying till it works 🙂

I'm working on one right now, it's going to take my 1600xp (running at 1.53 ) 18hrs to complete--and wow! 200 frames...feels like a marathon race with no end in sight 😱

Guys, I understand your sentiments about these long WUs, and don't particularly care for them myself. Hopefully they're really useful to Stanford, because the friggin things take my Celery almost forever to process. :Q

But please, bump the other thread. This one is old; there is a newer one! 😛

yada yada, but first let me say... don't mail the stuck WU's to them, they just got frickin server probs. The big problem is that the WU's need to be sent to the server you got them from. So if the server is down (107 has been down for... weeks, no, more like months I guess) the thing will remain in queue. F@H will try to send it every 6 hours and will keep it in queue until its send (unless your queue is more than 10 WU's long... in that case I'd suggest installing another client). You may check weather the server F@H is trying to send to on the stats page of F@H... and check in the forum. Just wait 😛 No need to delete... and if you go over the deadline because of server downage... nevermind, you should get your points for it (and they can make use of the WU).

Oh... and to my system (Celeron 366@458) every WU seems long 😀 Oh... and my P133... well, it needs around 3 to 4 days for a G@H unit

Yay, welcome me! 😀
Got my main system doing this now; secondary is still doing SETI. Don't know how long I'll keep at that. I must say that some stuff I've been reading makes it sound pretty unlikely that we'd ever pick up anything - life will either be so far behind us that they might be walking upright in a million years or so, or so advanced that we are just part of the dust that litters space. Still is cool to look though; maybe I'll go to 1500 WU's on SETI then go completely to Folding.
Time to put my PC to work helping to fix some problems right here on this planet. 🙂

hmm, folding looks cool too 🙂 And if you want something really damn cool looking try Muon. Should be too hard to get a good position with a small fleet cos the projects pretty small (<1000 users... you can even ask the guy who runs this to change your name etc. so small it is 😀 ). And it seems to make sense to me too 🙂

Damn, so many cool DC projects out there now, but so few PC's to run them on!
