If you haven't been producing points for a complete 7 days, I don't think that you're included in that. At least that's what I recall.

Stupid questions here from a complete folding noob. I have two older laptops (1.8ghz P-M & 900mhz celeron) that I just set up for folding. (I have a family member who suffers from Alzheimer's and think this is a terrific idea.) Having never done this before, I entered my AT name and the AT team number in the config screen. Later I found that there is someone else already with the same username, contributing to a different team. While I really don't care about the personal points accumulated, I would at least like the small amount contributed in AT's name. Will any WUs my laptops process get credited to AT? Also, is it even worth folding on these old machines?

I'm no F@H expert but I would think at least the Pentium M is worth running the standard F@H client on . As for the Cel 900 you could give it a go but I suspect you might find it's output isn't worth the cost?

Not sure about the name/points issue, I would of thought as long as you got the right team number (198 I think?) then TA will get the points .

Can someone confirm/correct what I've said above? cheers.

I think what Assimilator1 said is correct.
When I registered they warned me that there were other "pokey"s so I altered the name slightly to make it unique. All the other "pokey"s for instance have team numbers so I assume their teams are getting credit. So I expect you are too.

I also agree the Celeron 900 is way slow for crunching these days, and I personally would not run a Pentium either, but that's just me. If you do make sure there is plenty of air space underneath. It can get hot on the bottom.

You can check any of the stats sites for team 198 and then look for your name. If you are getting credit it will show up.

Thanks for the responses. I will give your suggestions a shot. I have several old laptops that I don't use (and don't sell as I'm a bit of a hoarder, I'm afraid, when it comes to laptops), and wanted to put them to good use. Will a 1.5ghz C7M be any better than the Celly? I'm guessing no, but I'm willing it to give it a try.

I think I will try the folding client on it and see how it does, and retire the Celeron after it finishes it's current unit. BTW, how do you send the results without downloading/starting another WU (i.e. don't want to get it and have it just expire and get reassigned in a few days)? Thanks again guys for the pointers. I've got the P-M grinding away as we speak. Maybe I will try to devote some CPU time from my primary machine as well.

I'm not sure if this works or not, but what I've been doing is right clicking the icon in the system tray and selecting "pause when done". It appears to send results and then stop, but I can't honestly say whether it downloads a new work unit or not.

You are correct Brownstone. Thanks. I searched the folding forums and found that they recommended using the -oneunit or -pause advanced options (which you can add in the advanced tab of the configure box if you use the systray version). The pause when done is similar to the -pause option, which is to say that it will send and then stop, although without exiting the client. The -oneunit option will process one WU, send the result and then exit, which is basically the same as -pause with an automatic exit.

Again, thanks for all the responses. I'll let you know how the C7 runs, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.
