I'm still recovering from IKE and Gustavo. Many pieces of equipment were destroyed by the storms, electrical spikes and actual lightning. Maybe by next week the farm will be restored.

I did the "manual search" Milestone stats from the 9:00 PM update of EOC. Mark almost had the 8,900,000 Milestone at that time.

You will notice this thread was created at 10:00 PM and that the title is "Folding@Home: 24 hour stats - September 17, 2008" and you were posting on the 18th.

10:00 PM is later than I should be up (after getting up before 5 and working 12 hours)

I have been thinking of doing them from the 6:00 PM update.

Sorry Gleem, I really was just curious.. I would have thought it would have been in the previous stats, thats all.

And thanks again for doing this, we all really appreciate it.

Edit: I just got my electric bill. Adding 4 GPU clients cost me $50 extra in electric, $235 total !! There is a price to pay for folding. ($30 without the folding computers)

$235.00 is a good amount of money -

I just got my electric bill, for $308.00 :shocked:. That's for 3 GPU clients and a PS3, all running 24/7, plus air conditioning. Our provider, Dominion Power, just instituted a 20% rate hike back in June or July, and is already asking the state for another rate hike.

Gravity and all fellow folders, friends and family in the states of Louisiana and Texas. Sorry to hear about your dilemmas that The 2 hurricanes have caused . Hope all goes well with your recovery's and all our prayers are with you.

After what I have witnessed on the Television during that past 3 weeks,, my power bill means nothing..........at all..

Me and the teen (17 year old daughter) are doing well. We didn't evacuate because work provides a hardened shelter. We suffered no damage and only had a few tree limbs to clean up. Many of our neighbors took 100 year old pines to their yard and about every 10th house took direct hits to roof, car or other asset. We were without power at home for only 3 days and at work for 8. Ike was a different storm with less wind but more water. The neighborhood behind me took 4' of water and I rode through it on my mountain bike before it receded. I met many folks that were in their homes and saw sunk cars and homes damaged. The debris from Gustavo was used by the surge to cause further damage and created a huge mess! Things are on the mend however and this is just the price we pay for living in this area.

As for power bills, before the storm I had one for $378. Folding is expensive. Folding lots is lots expensive. I hope to create a little more efficiency in my home rigs soon but as you can see I've reduced my output some and will return to the high 30's as soon as it makes sense. Thank you for your notes of concern, all is well here.
