My numbers always fluctuate so much depending if I play BC2 or not.

Thanks for the welcome. I've got a C7-M laptop grinding away 24/7, looks like it will take about 2.5-3 days to complete a WU (started Sat night and at 60% progress roughly this morning). While neither fast nor powerful, I am surprised at how cool the cpu seems to run. The system fan only seems to only turn on periodically. The P-M laptop I had folding, on the other hand, seemed to have its fan going 100% constantly, although it seemed to finish a WU in 1.5 days or so.

I'm having some issues with the P-M machine though. Since a few days ago, MSE keeps turning up a Bredolab.AA trojan on it, despite repeated cleanings. Scans on the drive with other AVs (AVG 9, McAfee, Panda's online scanner) don't find anything though (I removed the drive and put it in a USB box and scanned it). But if I boot up the P-M with that drive, MSE alerts me and an svchost process ends up eating up 99% of the CPU time. I don't have the svchost problem if I boot into safe mode with networking though. I think I will just boot it into safe mode and let the current WU finish, and then take the lappy offline and re-install XP, just to be sure. I'm assuming that there will be no danger of transmission if all I'm doing is sending results back to FAH?

You have to take video cards out of SLI to use 2 gpu clients correct? Because I don't think it does anything when I try to do a different gpu currently with mine in SLI, but only one card is actually being used.

I think I remember reading that it is OK with newer drivers to keep it in SLI?

Did you add (or configure with) -gpu1 and gpu2?

Yes, geecee, MSE is Microsoft Security Essentials, antivirus software. I seem to recall that F@H doesn't play well with antivirus software. It may be you need to try different ones until you find one that can coexist with Folding at Home. Maybe some one here can offer a suggestion.
I probably shouldn't say this out loud, but I don't run AV on my dedicated F@H crunchers since they only communicate with the F@H servers. My main computer is protected but I run Rosetta (BOINC) on it. (without any issues)

card/shortcut 2 : "C: \folding_470-2\Folding@home-Win32-GPU.exe -gpu 1"

2 different directories, plus the flags. (can be any directory name you want, but 2 different ones, I had to add a space after the C;, or it would display funny characters)

if u r leaving the box folding for a while it's probably easier to just shut off sli...
