Well, I got my machines all disinfected thanks to Nod32. I also put an Athlon X2 3800+@2.5Ghz on a couple of consoles crunching away. Can't wait to see what kind of point increase I get from that little upgrade.

12.7Ghz of crunching goodness going on now! :)

3.0Ghz C2D E6600 (Main Rig)

2.5Ghz 3800+ X2 (HTPC with 8500GT for HD acceleration goodness)

1.7Ghz Pentium M (Laptop)

Golgatha, are you running the SMP client on your C2D machine? The reason I'm asking is, I have NOD32 on my main rig (a C2D) and ever since I switched to the SMP client there, I've been having problems getting it to start up. I've set up SMP on a couple of other machines successfully, so I'm no stranger to it's use. I read a couple of posts on the F@H forums about others having problems with the SMP and also having NOD32. Just curious if you were also running it and having any issues.

Thanks for the welcome! I took about a month off to redo my computers after crunching full-time for the now-dead United Devices cancer project. But I am now folding on two single-core machines and my dual-core. I have two more single-core PCs to add and might upgrade one of them to dual-core as well if I have the extra cash.

One question I do have is whether it would be better to have my dual-core folding on the cores or on the 512mb X1800XT. I'm guessing the GPU would be a few times faster than the CPU, but I was unable to get it working with the 7.5 drivers and the GPU client.

Is there a clear, concise walkthough on setting up for GPU folding?

Again, thanks for the welcome. I forsee myself folding for years to come as I did with UD.

I can't say from experience, but have read that the GPU client can sometimes be tough to get going on some computers.
It is a beta client and they are working on improving it. They like it because it is more than a few times faster than the regular client.
CupCak3 had a thread here that had everything about the GPU client.

FYI, there is also a beta SMP client that will use up to four cores to speed up processing one WU. Many are trying this client because it gets very good points per day because it is a "High Performance" client.
Be aware though that the SMP WUs have a very short deadline that some older dual CPU with small L2 cache computers may not make.

If I remember right I almost made it to the Top 100 in UD. I really liked the client.
