TeAm_Deception.Net makes Top 50!!
I was wondering when it would become official, as Free-DC's stats showed us at number 50 for a week or so now.

Thanks for the stats GLeeM & nice dump Josh! :)

That's what happens when a remote system saves up for a week... besides, why are you all congratulating me? That was freaking painful (which should remind me to let that system go to the restroom more frequently)! ;)

Thanks for the stats, GLeem :D

Congrats o080o and TeAm_Deception.Net

Thanks GLeeM!

Whats with our 24 hr points average? Its been consistently low for the past few days. People taking a break from F@H?

Thanks, GLeeM!!!

:shocked::cool:o080o & TeAm_Deception.Net :beer::thumbsup:

I am not surprized at the low return numbers for TeAm for F@H. Most of my PC's are
crunching work units that are taking from an hour to 2 1/2hours per segment. The pc at work is even worst! 5 hours is the average for that one! At that rate it will be done sometime in the next 2 weeks (it's currently at the half way point - I hope)!!!

For some unknown reason Free-DC is not listing bruce.cowan on their stats page  He is at position 37 on F@H stats and EOC.

Do you have the -forceasm flag set on that work computer?

Sounds like it is running without optimizations. Unless it is than 500 Mhz.

An easy way to get optimizations running again is to stop and restart the client.

Hi, I'm back. Only with 1 (possibly 2) rigs this time though so I won't be throwing in the 900 a day that I used to.

Hi, GLeeM,

Thanks for the heads up.

The pc at work is an intel 1ghz p3 box. Can't recall how I set up that box. If I remember this coming Wed. I'll post what it's working on. My pc's at home are currently doing the following (I know, I should set up a TeAm page of what boxes I'm currently running, some day...).

Main Tower: 3.06 ghz intel norwood - hyperthreaded, 2- 1gig memchips (All flags enabled):
- (cpu at 50% utilization) Project 2504 (Run 48, Clone 1, Gen 12) - 30 min/section
- (cpu at 40% utilization) Project 1164 (Run 16, Clone 32, Gen 0) - 60 min/section

IBM A20M Laptop: 500mgh P3 with 256megs ram (Regular setup, no flags):
- (cpu at 100% utilization) Project 1608 (Run 7, Clone 67, Gen 5) - 8 hrs/segment:shocked:
(Currently at segment 52!)

Mid-Tower: 2.4b ghz intel norwood - 1 gig ram (All Flags Enabled) :
- (cpu at 100% utilization) Project 2056 (Run 24, Clone 3, Gen 46) - 35min/segment

NOTE: none of machines listed above are overclocked.

I have 2 more boxes which are offline now. One is an AMD 1000 Thunderbird from my nephew (I built it serveral years ago) which is DOA (fans & lights on but no post - hmm...)
and a Pentium Classic (!?!) from a friend.

If I wasn't on a "rice & beans" budget (& will be for several more years :(), I would make offers to what other TeAm members are putting up for grabs those boxes they are willing to part with, especially since I do not pay for gas & electric at my co-op.

Keep up the good work!

Your Main Tower is getting 95 + 138 points per day (PPD) (the 1164 is a double point bonus WU)

IBM Laptop is getting 1.5 PPD - this does not seem right, I suspect it is running without optimized code. (for reference, my P3@1000Mhz gets about 50 PPD.)

Mid-Tower is getting 79 PPD on its current WU.

Some WUs will do better on some CPUs than on others.

Thanks for the review of my systems, GLeeM. When the Laptop is done with it's current work load I will re-install (or edit its config file) to enable optimization codes.

Thank you!

If the computer crashes or the client is not shut down properly for ANY reason, the client on restart sees that and does not use optimized code because it assumes it was the reason for the crash.

Shutting down the client properly and restarting gets optimizations going again.

The -forceasm flag tells the client to NOT check how it was last shut down and so will always use optimizations. If your computer is stable it is safe to use this flag.

If you are looking at the above posts, 1164 is the project number not the points the WU is worth. The 1164 is worth 574 points, the 1165 is worth 622 points.

Although there are some huge WUs being beta tested, one is worth 1112 points as you can see here, p2390_Coiled coil.

Thanks GLeeM for the stats and o080o for reaching the 25,000 Milestone.

My 2800+ 64bit Sempron is working on a 1165 WU right now and it will take 3.5 days or just over 200 PPD. Slightly better than the average PPD it has recently been getting.
