Thanks for the stats. 🙂

Now that I know this thing works at work, I am thinking of installing it on a few more computers.

Is there a good site the runs down the install options and any add-ons. I couldn't find a proxy/queue for f@h, so if there is one of those out there, I would love to know about it.

Also, if someone wants to share their experience with me about optimal, yet easy, set up, feel free to PM me. I have wanted to branch out at work from just running SoB. Don't worry, this won't hurt any other project, I have more new computers to set up...

IJump,

If you're installing SMP client(s) or text only (CLI) clients on WindowsXP, I can help.

Let me know....

Not the dual-Xeon Mac Pro? If you are going to ask for something, go big. 😛

I finally got my second rig back up tentatively. It seems stable, runs stress tests stable for hours, but it still seems like it's unstable. Maybe it's a driver conflict with Vista x64. Hopefully I can keep it stable so I can get back to folding!

I do have one question. I've got an E6400, E6420, (both running 3.2GHz) and a PS3 folding, but when I check my stats on the website it only says 2 processors and only 2 WUs completed. My PS3 has completed 5 WUs in the past 2 days or so. Is that just a delay in updating maybe? I'm running the SMP on the 6400 and the GUI version on the 6420. The 6420 is my Fiancees computer and I wanted something easy for here to turn off if she wanted. The 6400 seems to be crunching slow as hell, but maybe its just cause the PS3 is fast as hell. It takes my 6400 ~20 hrs to complete a simulation with 500000 steps. The PS3 completes 750000 steps in about 6-7 hrs. Crazy

It usually takes some time for the WU's to show up in the stats. I've had some not show up for 9+ hours. Usually they post within 6 hours.

I guess I am going to state the obvious, but make sure you have your username and TeAm 198 set up. My old linux machine went haywire on me last year and somehow started using Anonymous as the user and no team. I lost a good 3 weeks folding as a result.

I don't have a PS3, so I don't know what the point value is per WU, but the SMP units usually give out 1,760. The step number size does not translate to the WU point size. You'll have to look at the WU project number to see what its value is: http://fah-web.stanford.edu/psummary.html.

Hope that helps a little.

no

Then ill be fine with my hackintosh
It was because i didnt install the 10.5.2 update correctly, hacks always have their problems
In this case it was a bad update...

In addition to Uppsala9496's good advice I can add that you now show three processors which should be correct for what you are running.

The PS3 servers have been having some problems lately and that might be why those points are not showing yet?

Running 24 hours the PS3 should get about 900 points.
