Currently there are three different WUs for WinSMP: 2610, 2651, 2652

They all run differently on different hardware. The benchmark computer has lots of CPU L2 cache ram.

On a computer with less L2, 2610 runs much slower.

2651 and 2652 run faster than 2610 on rigs with smaller L2.

Welcome to all the new members. What is the record for most new members in a day?

What is up with WU 3038? I have had 3 stop at frame 78 and not talk to the server. I get a message in the log that haven't talked to server for at least 3 hours. It then removes the work unit and loads a new one. I don't get any partial points like I used to get before. Previously it would say the unit is unable to continue be it instability or just the nature of the workunit. I used to get at least some points on them.

Man The PS3s are catching up like crazy to the computers, Its so powerful for this kind of work its not even funny. Well at least theres on thing that the PS3 is good for (for now at least... I hope) :/

So I return home to find my F@H SMP client chugging along...and I scroll up and find that the work halted at 80% stating that Gromacs cannot continue further. The client then sent back what was completed, the core shutdown reason was EARLY_UNIT_END, and CoreStatus = 7B(123) and CLient-core communications error: ERROR 0x7b.

Does this mean I will not be getting any points for this particular WU? I was trying to blast to the top of the Anandtech daily charts And what does that error typically even mean?

If it did send back what was done, you could/should get partial points.

EARLY_UNIT_END (EUE) is usually WU related.

Client-core communications error happens sometimes, but I think is more so with the SMP client - I think I read something about this over at the folding forum? I would guess it will be something that will get fixed before beta testing is over.
