Folding (GPU or otherwise) on WHS?

Just wondering if it would be possible to run F@H on Windows Home Server? Since the CPU (and GPUs, in my case) would go otherwise unused (it's a server after all).
I just built this quad-GPU rig (yeah, you're all tired of me mentioning it by now), and I used a 6400AAKS drive just because I had it lying around. If I could run WHS on this box, it would give it a useful purpose to keep it around, and I would add some more HDs to it.

WHS is based on SBS 2003, right? Not 2008? That would mean it would be compatible with XP, not Vista. Would the XP 32-bit drivers for Forceware 180.70 install on WHS?

I remember reading some posts about Windows Home Server over at the fah forums. I really wasn't paying much attention (edit: removal of bad info)

I found The thread I still didn't really pay attention, but it is here if you want it. Honestly at a skim, I still don't know if you can use WHS or not.

Tentatively, it does sound like it works.

I guess I need to obtain a copy of WHS to test it out. I'll be the gunea pig.

Is there a trial edition of WHS available?

I don't know, but I can try on Windows Server 2008 sometime. I just need a CUDA card for my server (it's still using 7-series video).

I ran folding and boinc on all beta and rc versions of WHS and it is possible without any issues. If you can't find a server 2003 driver, the xp driver will almost always work. If you still run into trouble, run the program in compatible XP mode

Yes, you can go to Microsoft's website and order the full blown version. They will send it via mail or you can download it. It is a 120 day trial and if you like it, you can buy the key. I had them send it mail, took about 3-4 weeks.

How did I miss this thread? Hmmm.

I have been crunching on my WHS box since it was created, and I haven't ran into any problems so far.

Another question, can I set up the WHS machine to boot headless, and will F@H GPU still operate? (Put shortcuts into startup folder, for example)

What kind of remote-access software should I use, as I've heard that RDP'ing into a box running F@H GPU will screw it up.
