folding console or graphical based client?

Hey all, does anyone have any hard proof that the folding at home console is indeed faster than the graphical client. I realize if you leave the folding graphical client on screen that it will eat more CPU cycles. But when both graphical and console clients are minimized in the background are they equally fast? I'm trying to get the best performance out of the machines that I currently have folding.

From a programming point of view, the CLI will definitely be faster, but probably only marginally so if the GUI in comparison were kept minimized all the time. In that case, the main advantage of the CLI would be the ability to run it as a service, so it is hidden from the taskbar and system tray, and it will keep running if somebody logs off.
