Folding client question..

Okay, from what I can tell, the Folding@Home client isn't SMP compliant.. bit of a bummer, but then neither is the SETI client; that was one of the really great things about RC5 - SMP compliance - worked great on the 6-way ALR! 😀 But I digress..

Anyways, I'm figuring that I'd need to set up seperate folders for the Folding clients, but I can't find a way to make the 2nd client client "see" the 2nd CPU. 🙁 Anybody with some ideas? 😕

what do you mean "see" the second cpu? I have one of my BP6s folding and all I did was put them in separate directories and KAZAAM they both fired up, although it did take a while for them to get their first FU and start folding.

I am not the one who should be replying I suppose but I didn't seem to have that problem. Are you using KDfold or a different app to "watch" your production? That really helped me because I didn't know if i had it setup but both CPUs seem to be folding away 😀

Thanks guys! 🙂

It would appear that the Folding client doesn't make near as much use of the extra cache on a Xeon as compared to the Seti client. 😱
