Folding bicycle (new design)

Italian designer Gianluca Sada has announced his creation of a folding bike he claims reduces size and weight as much as possible while still providing quality transportation. When compacted, the Sada Bike is the size of an umbrella (plus wheels).

If you still have to carry around giant wheels, it doesn't really count. Use a standard bicycle, then you don't have to carry three things.

Having to carry the wheels separately kills it for me. I really dig that hub-less wheel design though. Looks futuristic.

Something tells me that there isn't a real fully functional product on display in that video.

I really need a folding bike. currently my bike sits at the bottom of my stairs blocking the front door. No fucking way in hell i'm carrying this thing up a flight of stairs that are very steep.

Lol yeah. They probably had to disassemble it from the "open" position and reassemble it in the "folded" position or something.

No, it's not just you.

The only reason I watched the vid was to see how it folded up and they didn't show it.

I also found the drawn diagrams instead of a demonstration suspicious.

I suspect you're right that there's no functional product yet.
