Folders in XP

I've been wondering this for over a year now. For example, I want my control pannel to have icons, other folder I want to have them list icons. But after I switch it to icons in the control pannel, usualy the next time I go back its switched back to list icons. How can I get each folder to save its layout??

Download Power Toys for XP and you can make it save your settings without rooting through the Registry.

went to the MS website but can't figure out which one to download. I assume its Tweak UI but when I try to run it I get "not a vaild WIN32 app" Any sugguestions.
