Folder views in options for Explorer

Muse

Lifer
It says: "You can set all your folders to the same view."

Then there are two buttons:

Like Current Folder

and

Reset All Folders

Then there's an OK and Cancel button.

I've been puzzling over this for years. I'm using Windows 2000 SP4, and I've always visited these options very early after a fresh install of Windows. I like to set a folder up the way I like and then instruct Windows to open all folders like that one. Now, I find this dialog confusing. You set up the current folder the way you like and then go to the dialog, but which of those two buttons do you push? Or do you push both of them. I've always managed to set it up, but sometimes it's been a real fight and Explorer opens folders with Web views, which I don't like or maybe properly appreciate. Why would you want Explorer to look like a Web page ("Web content in folders")? I always set up my Explorer to show "Details" and show a few optional columns like attributes and date created as well as date last modified. How do you people set things up (or do you use Explorer replacement programs?)?

I know what you mean.... Here's how I do it. I first set View to show details (personal pref), then I go into folder options and select the things I want like Show hidden files and folders, etc. Then I click the Apply button and after that, click the Apply to All Folders button THEN I click the OK button.

Works like a charm for me.

Sounds great. That's actually what I do, when I get it right that is. I'll save your instructions in case I forget next time.
