Folder & Library Management in Win7

I completed a new build earlier this summer, and I am still trying to get the hang of WIN7. Ive been using WINXP for years, so its been a minor adjustment.

I am having some trouble getting the default folders (My Documents, My Pictures, My Videos and My Games) to perform as desired.

As I am running the OS from an SSD, due to capacity concerns, the first thing I did was relocate My Documents, My Pictures, My Videos and My Games to my secondary large capacity hard drive.

I also made sure to designate each as the primary destination under the libraries feature.

Where I am having trouble is where applications like Steam or Games for Windows Live like to dump profile, saved games and other such files.

I created a new folder called My Saved Games on my secondary hard drive. As I discover such files installed in locations other than this folder, I relocate their folders to the My Saved Games folder.

Problem I am having is that some games recognize the file move, others do not.

Examples:
I moved my saved games for W40K: Retribution and Fallout3, both Windows Live games, without a hitch. Did the same for Bioshock2, and it won't recognize my saved game files.

Any pointers or tips out there on moving folders or files around to your liking under WIN7?

Did you move the folders the proper way, by telling Win7 to move them (under right click, properties I believe). If you moved them manually, that is likely the source of your problems.
