The guy that sits in the cube next to me got married and he's out on his honeymoon. While he was gone, we all decided to foil his cube. We covered the walls, the floor, the desk, the computer, the trashcan, papers, pens, paper clips, tacks, photos, etc. Even the pieces of paper he had on his cube wall got covered. It's not an original idea but it was still so much fun. If anything funny happens on Monday when he gets back, I'll try to update this post.

Update:

The guy was totally amazed. He didn't say much other than "Wow!" He wasn't mad or anything. Just amazed. He unwrapped just a few pieces and got right into his work. Still in shock. He didn't really care to know who did it. He was cool with it.

Later that day, he continued to unwrap the rest of the stuff and proceeded to make an aluminum foil ball. He decided to leave some of the items in their foil wrapper. He was really impressed with the level of detail that some people put in. When I left yesterday, the ball was already larger than a standard basketball and he still had two walls to unwrap. In the end, it was great clean non-destructive fun.

That's a wrap!
------------------------------

We might not see a pic of the ball. We work in a secure area and we are not allowed to bring cameras in. The only way we got those pics is the admin support person called the company photographer and explained what was going on and the photographer decided to come out to our area unofficially. I doubt he'll do it again though.

The foil ball is about the size of a beach ball. Slightly larger than a basketball. It is wearing a tin foil hat so it looks like Jack from the Jack In The Box restaurant.

There are still a few items in his cube that are still wrapped in foil. Some things he decided to leave as is.

Nice work! That looks pretty cool. I know I would be shocked if I walked in and found my office that way.

How do you go about this? If my boss saw this, I would be kicked out ASAP. Did you do it after-hours?

It took us a couple of days working on our lunch break. There were about 10 people that helped at different times.

Yes, life in a cube farm rocks!
