FOID Card

I live in Illinois and own a couple shot guns. In Illinois you must have a firearm owners identification card (picture id) to buy firearms or rounds. I think it's crap. What do you think? :disgust:

Seems about right. The state knows your name, address, and now know you own a gun. Seems like it'd be pretty easy to round up all the guns if they wanted to....since they know everyone who owns a gun - right?

Big deal if you have to show ID to buy a fire arm you need an ID to buy alcohol why should a gun be any different. Oh by the way is it like underage drinking where everyone knows the store that doesn't "card" people.

There is a big difference between showing an ID to buy beer than there is to buy ammo. Does the clerk document your name and what you bought when you set the 6 pack on the counter?

Maybe you have a good point Spencer, maybe the State Police need to know exactly how much booze everyone purchases too. Wouldn't bother me in the least since I don't drink.

Don't get me wrong folks, I don't own or want an assault rifle as it would make a mess out of a deer. I see no reason to own or have them either. As a matter of fact I think anyone who tries to purchase one, or the ammo for one, SHOULD have to register it.

Hahahahaha, you should know what is required to own a gun herearound... No really criminal past, have to be licensed hunter or member of a shooting sports-club, details about how the safe for the gun/s is supposed to be installed...
