I swear the animal Kingdom got smaller today.
So much meat. So much deliciously cooked meat.

After the first taste of fillet mignon and a sip of wine I just sat back in my chair, closed my eyes, oblivious to the people around me, and enjoyed that moment.

I really ENJOYED that moment. It was fvkign transcidental.

You should mention that its an all you can eat meat fest. I didn't realize that there was more then the one in Chicago, it's really pricey though.

Yep, on LaSalle I believe. I have heard great things about this place but have never been.

It's mental. Every piece was cooked very very well. Nothing was burned or overcooked. The sides were quality as well.

actually the bill is comparable with what you'd get at some other steakhouses (especially in chicago). of course the quality isn't as good but you're paying for variety and the insane salad bar IMO.

Just go there instead. I repeatedly had the best steak of my life in Argentina for about a week straight for around $10USD per steak.

My one experience in Fogo de Chao:

Me and two friends were invited to go there by a fourth friend along with about 10 of his college classmates that we didnt know. While waiting on our table the three of us ran up a $175 bar tab, then halfway into the meal my friend tried to start a fight with another guest at our table (one of the people we didn't know was being snooty about our drunkenness and he didn't take kindly to it). We were then ejected from the restaurant.

Fun times.

Great place. Probably my favorite steak place. The salad bar is excellent too. The prices aren't too bad for lunch. I think around $40 or less for lunch.

Did you have to pay your tab first?

I go once a year on my company tab when I travel to Houston. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants.

sounds like the only heaven I could ever believe in.

How much is this place? I've never even been to Chicago, but if I go I'd love to take a trip and die in my little heaven. :)

I went to Chophouse in October and the tab was about 120 for myself & SO.

it was damn f'n good steak, best i've ever had, but Fogo might have been a better choice for value.
