I just saw a commercial on TV for these contact lenses that you can wear for up to 30 days CONTINUOUSLY. The website is here.. I just wanna know if anyone out there has worn these things or had any previous experience with them. I'm really interesting in getting a pair now but I just want to get some information. What do you think real deal or marketing ploy?

yeah, i'd like to know also.. saw the commerical today too..

was always told your eyes need to breath regardless.. any input?

I usually wear my daily ones like Night and Day ones.

I will MOST CERTAINLY be getting these, I just need to schedule an eye exam.

Contacts are so bad for your eyes. With the biggest retailer here in Switzerland, you have to specially sign an agreement, that you don't wear them 7days a week, only 6days. I had contacts for a year but got back to glasses, so much more comfortable than contacts.

Supposedly, these contacts allow more oxygen to pass thru. That's why you are able to wear them for a longer period of time. I am getting them soon.. as soon as they have them in stock. If you want to try them out, just ask your optometrist for a trial pair. The manufacturer distribute the samples for free to them, so they shouldn't be charging you anything for it. Of course, you'll need to have your prescription.

I do not have the same brand that you linked to but I have the acuvue version of those. I have been able to wear them 30 days straight without a problem. They are however more comfortable if you take them out at least once a week or every 2 weeks to clean them and let them sit in solution overnight or for at least a few hours. I had problems with daily wear lenses and my doctor recommended that I try these out and see if they improved my comfort. They were perfect for me and I haven't had a problem since. I would highly recommend them to anybody wearing daily wear contacts.

I really want to get these if they are as good as advertised. I used to wear contacts but it was such a pain to take them out and put them back in everyday. Just not totally conviced about them yet.

Murphy55d.. I'm not a subscriber so I can't see your link.

Absolutely! I used to wear "extended wear" contacts for 7 days at a time. A year later, I went back to the eye doctor to get a new prescription. My capillaries in my eye had practically grown into the iris, because they were starving for air. The doc told me that had they actually grown into it, I would've had serious vision problems, possibly permanent. He refused to give me a new prescription, and I'm glad he did.

Granted, I'm sure contacts are better now, than they were a few years ago. But if that experience taught me anything, it's that possibly sacrificing my eyes just because I was too lazy to take my contacts out at night, is a very poor idea.

I still wear contacts, but not nearly as much as I used to. I clean them every use and I NEVER leave them in at night.

The benefit is simply not worth the risk.

I may go see the optometrist about this.. I really, really, really, really hate taking out and putting in contacts every day.

Oh c'mon... How long does it take to remove your contacts at night? An honest 30 seconds or so? And then we'll say maybe an entire minute to put them in.

Yup. I guess for some poeple, there's no limit to laziness 🙂

I agree.. and with the no-rub solutions, it's even quicker. 😛

Well it's not so much the time it takes.. it's more about the convenience of not having to take them out and put them back in and repeat.

For me it takes almost 5, because I can never get them in right the first time (or at least it seems)... Once they're in it's nice, but to be able to go to sleep w/out having to worry about leaving them in would be nice too...

Aphex: Yes, they make them for astigmatism. I asked my optometrist about it today when I saw her. If you are looking to get new glasses, pm me and I will tell you who she is and give you her number.

BTW, my optometrist is hot.
I plan on going back for another visit real soon.
Probably for these contacts.
