Foam based beds

Anyone in here use one of those foam based beds? I am in the market for a new one and saw that they have combination ones out made with a sort of pillow top and a foam based body. I also remember reading about how the Tempur-Pedic ones and it's clones break down after only a few short years leaving big depressions in the middle of the mattress. Also remember how people said the foam breaks down after time and does not bounce back. Have these problems been fixed or should the general public still stay away from memory foam mattresses and the hybrid ones and stay with the old fashioned coiled ones

My 3" foam topper was only about $110. I can stand to pay that much to replace it every few years for the comfort it gives.
