Recently fired one of these for the first time after getting a word of mouth reccomendation and ordered one the same day. This gun is amaizing. Kicks similarly to a .380ACP or 25magnum. Shares rounds with the P90(as seen on stargate sg-1) and is probably about to become my new CCW. Very fun gun.

Anyone else here own one or atleast fired one?

...you're going to CC a 5-7? They're huge..and ammunition is more expensive than gasoline..

If someone shot me with one of those, and I found out about it, I would be pissed off.

Might as well get a 22magnum. Ammo is cheaper and easier to find, and you will get similar results.

EDIT: Actually, I'm backing off on this. It had been a bit since I had read the story and FNUSA has done some testing and proved the failure was related to an overcharged reload. I still don't know what to make of the videos, but for now I won't spread false info.

There's no such thing as a desert eagle? or no such thing as a deagle for $100 less? or the P228? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIG_P226#P228

No such thing as a "deagle".

A Desert Eagle is not $100 less. The .44 Mag and the .50AE are $12-1300 and the 5.7 USG is priced at less than $1000.

edit: LMAO, you are talking CS. pwnt. :D

Don't listen to CS fanboys.

I play CS Source but I don't think the game is realistic at all... though I have to say the 5-7 in Source is a pretty good gun :)

Without the AP cartridges, the 5.7x28 is pretty worthless. It wasn't made around shooting people, but defeating armor. Using it for CCW is a pretty poor choice, especially given its size.

Civilians can't buy the "good" ammo for it.

How big are you to cc a 57? A p229 wouldn't hide enough to satisfy me, so I like my kahr p9 or pm9

I am 6', about 215lbs, and I can conceal an HK Mk. 23 with no problems. All you need is a quality holster.

Great gun. Ammo ain't cheap.

It's like having a pocket rifle since the catridge is based on a rifle cartridge. Will take down any oponent, armored or not.

CC isn's so bad and the gun is light as well.

I guess anyone with a rifle is planning to shoot someone body armor too?

But yes the Five-Seven's cartridge is a rifle-like cartridge and will work it's magic on body armor just like a rifle would.
