A great American. He went through hell in the war ( WW2 ).

He has a great book about his life: "One Soldiers Story: A Memoir".

Picked it up to browse and read it in one day.

RIP Bob

I swear I remember seeing that his pen had finally dropped about 1 or 2 years ago.

Not necessarily, being President is a stressful gig.
Dying in office due to stress seems to either have not occurred or only rarely.

Being in Congress is already stressful, so a long term politician is already somewhat primed for the job.

This is what I remember of Dole vs Clinton. I was far too young to care or comprehend politics then.

Trump must be getting soft in his descent into the basement of has beens. He was rather gracious (for Trump) about his death.

“Bob Dole was an American war hero and true patriot for our Nation. He served the Great State of Kansas with honor and the Republican Party was made stronger by his service. Our Nation mourns his passing, and our prayers are with Elizabeth and his wonderful family.”
