FM1 mini-ITX board - where???

Seriously, what the heck is going on here with LLano and mini-ITX boards? Two were shown before the CPU was released (ASrock and Asus), and they still haven't hit the market yet.

I really, really don't get it. I would think that LLano would make a fairly killer HTPC, since it is powerful enough to decode videos even if the hardware acceleration fails, which the E-350/Zacate is not powerful enough.

Is it because at full load, on a desktop chip, power consumption is so high that the VRMs on the mini-ITX boards would burn out?

IOW, the boards were designed around a certain TDP target, and the chip, as currently mfg'ed, exceeds that by a significant margin?

Since they have yet to release lower-powered LLano desktop chips, possibly this is the reason why?

I'm guessing they want to milk e-350 sales for all they can

also with the exception of the laptop llano chips, they use significantly more power than zacate

who knows, maybe we'll see mini-itx bulldozer motherboards, then 28nm discreet GPU's
then llano will be pointless on all fronts

I would have built a llano system already if they had m-itx as an option (saved the money for it) ...

I own an ION / Atom 330 nettop / HTPC on an Antec ISK300-65 W.

A short while later Antec released the Antec ISK300-150 with a 150W power supply.

Any LLano A8-XXXX should operate just fine in this Mini-ITX case unless there is something seriously wrong with the power / thermal levels of the FM1 Mini-ITX boards.

I have a friend who was all ready to build his HTPC but is still left in the dark wondering what happened to these boards.

OEMs are eating up all the Llanos right now. So I doubt board makers are in a rush to make boards when there are only 2 CPUs now. Once more CPUs come out and OEMs start to get their full, we will see more.
But the largest shopping time for new computers is right before school starts. So all the OEMs are building up stock for that.

amazing that gigabyte already has 6 fm1 motherboards on the market
yet their m-itx one ga-a75n-usb3 is listed as "Coming Soon"

article

why do they need 7 versions ?
amazing

finding pictures of m-itx fm1 motherboards from asus, asrock, gigabyte, etc. on google is easy enough atleast

I'm less interested in Llano as an HTPC chip than as a college student all-arounder. Its TDP is too high for an HTPC and its capabilities are totally overkill for an HTPC. However, it's perfect as a light to medium intensity general usage with light gaming capabilities. That's exactly what most college kids want.
