FM Transmitter advice needed.

Hi all,
I'm thinking of getting my first Ipod....Nano 2 GB. I currently use a FM Tranmitter a lot with my older Diskman as I spend 2-3 hours a day in my car and I'm wondering if the Nano FM Transmitters work well? How is battery life affected? Is the volume loud enough?...etc.
