Back in 2010' there was mention of apple using a bcm chipset that would have fm receiving capabilities. Has this ever been implemented?

I tried looking for apps that can do this, but cannot find any.
 
I've never seen any. Tunein Radio is probably your best bet - though if you want to use it outside you will need a data contract obviously.
