Flying with Alcohol

In two weeks, I'm flying back home from school. I was planning on bringing back a bottle or two of vodka in my carry-on (the stores around campus are a lot cheaper than the stores around my house). Will the TSA dudes go through my stuff? It's perfectly legal to bring alcohol on planes, but I really don't want a hassle. Should I just check the bottles and hope my bags don't get smashed by the baggage handlers? Surely, someone here has had a similar experience...

Here's the TSA regulations concerning alcohol: http://www.tsa.gov/public/interapp/editorial/editorial_1189.xml

Thanks.

What are you bringing, everclear? Most normal liquor seems fine. Anything less than 140 proof is ok right?

My friend went through airport security with a bowl in her pocket. Not the smartest idea, but somehow she got away with it.

A cooking bowl? Or a weed bowl?

I'm not 21 though... will they card me? Or am I safe?

I know Southwest has restrictions for Glass alcohol containers. On Airline (the show on Q&E) they wouldn't let a couple on who had two boxes of whiskey. They said something about how they would only allow a certain amount of alcohol (less than they had) and it had to be in a certain type of container (not just in a box). Let me look for it...

That's what I like to hear... I figure flying is cheaper and less risky than mailing them (which gets the ATF on your ass).

Yeah they don't care. You could have them filled with H2SO4 or worse. Yet they'll take the "Where's the Beef?!" lady (Wendy's) and haul her away for nailclippers.
