Does anyone know the rule of flying domestic flights on Delta? I've got a couple of 6 packs from a local microbrewery that I'd like to take home with me, but I don't know if it's legal to fly with them.

There are controlled substance transportation laws. I should know since I was arrested for supposedly breaking them.

I should probably check the bags? I'm hoping it won't be too difficult to ensure they don't get broken in transit.

There are, but I guess I'm not going to resell it. I think that's what most of those are setup for. I know liquor from out of the country is limited to 2 bottles per passenger.

Personally, I would ship them to myself just in case. It shouldn't cost too much and hopefully you could avoid any complications:)

I brought a liter of Bombay Sapphire back with me from Washington DC. No problems whatsoever, but it was in my checked baggage.

just make sure during the flight you pull out the six pack and stroll up to the cockpit and knock on the door.

these days some pilots would open the door and say "no thanks, we've got our own"

We just went through this coming home from Vegas on Delta. My friend called the airlines and they said:

"As long as it's less than 70% alcohol (140 proof) you can transport it in checked bags."

Don't know about the policy for carry-on.

I carried 20 beers onto a flight once. I didn't want to check them because I was afraid the lack of pressurization in the cargo area would cause the bottles to burst. The airline didn't have any problems with this.

Family has carried on 4 bottles of Pineapple rum from Cayman Islands, you should be more than fine.
