Flying with a guitar

I had to fly to New York for my Dad's services last weekend and brought back one of his Fender guitars. I was a little apprehensive because I didn't want to lose it or have it damaged or be hassled by carrying it on the plane and I sure as hell wasn't going to check it but it came through just fine. I took it through security, they never even opened it up or asked me about it. I checked it at the gate and collected it each time as I exited the aircraft.

The case is a hard case and it has a couple small marks in it now but overall it came through fine. For anyone flying with a guitar I think having a hard case you can lock is a good idea.

So, I now have an original issue left-handed Fender Jag-Stang (designed by Kurt Cobain and made in Japan) in pristine condition. I wanted to have this one because my son is left handed and if he takes an interest in playing guitar I thought this would be a very cool gift for him someday. They weren't that uncommon that it will ever be worth serious money so I think it would be cool if he used it when he's older. If he doesn't I'll probably just try to sell it.

I would never place a guitar in luggage unless it was in a flight case. I just bring one in a soft shell case as carry on and place it underneath the seat.

Cute kid, cool guitar, nice couch and a very familiar remote...

DirectTV...amiright? ^_^

You am right.

And that couch sucks. Everytime you spill something on it and wipe it up some of the dye comes up with it. It is comfortable though.
