Flying to Europe, looking to meet on east coast first

My friend and I are planning to goto Europe in a few months, but he lives in Wisconsin right now, and I live in CA. Is there anyway to arrange for us to both end up on the same flight internationally after a stop?

Might be more expensive. When I went to France last year, my friend and I were planning on flying out together, but since our return dates were different, the airline wanted to charge me like $400 more to get on that flight. I ended up taking one that left from Philadelphia instead of Newark and got in about an hour earlier than his-- just met him right outside his gate. Wasn't a big deal.

Me and a bunch of friends went to Prague back in March, we left from Newark (we live in Philly), they left from JFK (since they live in CT), we meet up in Milan, Italy and continued to Prague together. It can be done, not that difficult. Just look at the flight available.

if you pick the same airline, their intl flights will probably leave from the same city. definitely not hard to do, but one of you will probably pay more than necessary. other option would just be to take whatever is cheapest and wait for the other at the destination airport.

I would recommend a layover in NY for an hr or so, sure it increases the length of time for your trip but it gives you some time to walk around and get out of the seat. Thats a long flight if you get a direct flight, and you are going to be ready to get out of that plane.

I did a non-stop from Heathrow to LAX a few weeks ago and it was much better than the flight to Europe with a layover in Chicago.
