He saw the girl put the bra on the antenna and then claims not to have known what was flying at him? He should lose his license.

The beginning of the article implies that it was an unknown object, but that was apparantly for dramatic effect. Dramatic effect is always important in a news article, especially when they give away the ending in the headline. 😕

Later in the article it looks like he knew it was a bra, althought it isn't clear if his quote is based on what he saw and knew at the time or if it was based on his knowledge after the fact that it was a bra.

But I digress. IF it was an unknown object, then his reaction was not entirely out of line. If you see an airborne object flying at you, you only have an instant to react. And people die when airborne objects fly through their windshield at 70 mph. I have a friend who lost a relative when some kid dropped an object off an overpass into traffic. It smashed through her windshield and killed her.

There was a rash of that here a couple years ago. Kids dropping rocks off of overpasses.

Some guy about two years ago dropped a 24lb steel plate off an overpass, it went through the windsheild and killed a woman. The same guy was arrested earlier for throwing rocks at cars on a bridge. He was acquitted on all charges from the steel plate incident, so he killed a woman and got away with it :disgust:
