Vodka, eh? You alcoholic...It actually cost about 3 dollars a bottle up in the air. Full bottle.

On an Aeroflot flight. Horrid experience.
Oh, man! No shiat! Don't know about now, but back in the (day of) the USSR, Aeroflot flights out of the far East were often the dead nuts, couldn't be beat, cheapest deals on your first leg back to civilization, especially at the last moment, when you could bargain them down to practically nothing, but, DAMN, to anyone used to Western levels of cleanliness, decorum, safety and service, you got what you paid for.

Hilarious in retrospect, my one flight was scary at the time. I know plenty of others with similar stories.

My fellow passengers ranged from really, truly friendly and curious about the West to drunk bozo belligerent chauvinist and looking for an ideological argument, even if they didn't speak English! Their luggage alone was worth a comedic highlight reel.

My experience was in the 70's. With the breakup and deterioration of the former Soviet Union, I can only imagine what Aeroflot is like now.

The guy across the aisle's seat broke and he had to sit on the ground for the rest of the flight. Then when we were about to land the left wing was shaking so badly we thought it would break off.
