Just came across this
Which hosts the splitter for modern flv files containing mp4, to playback on any media player
http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli2/files/

I realize its been there a while
I've always used the version from the legacy project page here, which worked until flv evolved
http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/files/

[sarcasm]Thx internet for always only showing the old progect page in search results, special thx too for sourceforge for seperating what seems like one project into two seemingly identical but totally seperate project pages[/sarcasm]

FU internet
FU sourceforge
FU VLC

that was the only thing i use to need vlc for. posting incase someone else is in same situation.

MPC + ffdshow + Haali + any extra splitters = ~20mbs
vlc = ~100mbs ...seriously wtf lol if i could only make vlc experience the digital equivelant of a slow and very painful death during deletion

EDIT: for anyone who doesn't know. manually installing a media filter, dll, ax, etc..
> extract file to Destination
> command prompt
> regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Destination\FLVSplitter.ax"
uninstall
> regsvr32 -u"C:\Progarm Files\Destination\FLVSplitter.ax"
