FLV grabber browser extenstions

For 7 years now I've been using a FF extension called FLV downlaoder https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flash-video-downloader/?src=search

It's sole purpose was to grab links to flv videos on all the various TV/movie stream sites including youtube/vimeo/dailymotion ect.
I collect a lot of harder to find foreign TV and movies.

I've never had cause to look for an alternative until now. the update to Palemoon 27 broke the extension...

I can still use it on Firefox 50 but I prefer palemoon and thought I'd put this out there for anyone else who uses similar extensions and has a suggestion.

Thanks
EDIT: Looks like the main issue was with extention autoupdate. reverting to an older version still gives me the functionality I am used to. Still wish I could find an actual alternative to this addon.

tried grabbing a few videos with flashgot. Some sites work, like youtube, most others end up downloading a .htm file less than a megabyte.
