This is (hopefully) for dudes...

Do you or have you ever witnessed someone walk up to the urnial, notice that it wasn't flushed before them, flush it, start peeing, get done and flush it again? What's the point in flushing the urinal before you start peeing it again just bc the water is yellow?

I've done this in cases where it smells like urine. I don't want to stand there doing my business while smelling someone elses.

1) I dont want backsplash of someone else piss thats been sitting around for god knows how long
2) I don't want to hear you pissing or the guy farting in the stall.
3) the sound of water psychologically aids in the release of my personal stream.

Sometimes I'll do it if somebody took a crap before me and didn't flush it. Looking at it is disgusting and peeing on it just makes it smell worse.

oh wait, you said urinal, nvm... :p

Oh, sort of like when my gf runs the sink when we have guests and she has to pee? I get it.

Backsplash? I have better aim then that (unless we're talking microscopic particles which are floating around the entire bathroon).

In annswer to the question, no I don't. No reason to IMO.

I do that quite often. Both in Urinals and Toilets.
But that's because I'm an old man with an old brain!

I'll flush first if it is full of piss, take my piss, and then flush again.

I don't want any splashing of someone else's piss on me. No, it shouldn't happen, but sometimes it does, so I'll pre-flush as a precaution.

Do you guys hump the urinals or just pee straight down into them? I mean the wall of the urinal is there for a reason. If you pee straight into the wall urine should not splash back all over you. If you are aiming for the pee down in the bowl area then yeah, you are bound to get splash back. The smell? I don't really smell anything down there, I'm 6'5 so maybe thats just one more plus to being tall. I rarely ever use the hippie view, but flushing twice the amount of water to avoid the embarrasement of someone hearing your urine or the chance you might get a whiff of pee while you are peeing is... American.

Aim for the angled inner edges of the urinal. It eliminates spashback altogether.

me neither.

Yeah, it's only the 21st century, why bother taking advantage of indoor plumbing? Better to just let your bodily waste sit and stagnate for the next person.

Not really. I've yet to discover a method where any sort of spray/splash is eliminated COMPLETELY, and I have pretty good aim so I try all the angles. Some work better than others, but it's basically impossible to eliminate all spray.
