quick question on the fluke 177. i can pick this up for relatively cheap. was wondering if this is a good decision. the 87s are all lot higher priced. is there a noticeable difference between them? whats good for the money? any other recommendations? thanks! :)

I love my 177. Actually, I like BelMerit too.

Depends on what you're doing. For almost everyone, the 77 is an excellent choice.

<-- Has a Fluke 8062A, 8502 (iirc, needs repair, rack mount DMM), Triplett 9301, and $90 radioshack meter. Guess which one goes in the car.

The fluke 77, 87, 83 etc meters tend to go missing alot around my work. So I assume they work pretty well. The 8060A stays around though. Love the ol' non-autoranging style :) (HP 34401As always seem to go off to cal and get returned to somewhere else)
