Hey, I think it's about time I get my power streering fluid/brake fluid changed and was wondering if anyone has any idea on the capacities? Doesn't say anywhere in my manual...aside from coolant capacity which is 8.8 liters I believe.

Reason is I have no idea how many bottles I should buy...

Car is a 2001 Lexus ES 300

Buy the large bottles of the correct fluids. Check the owners manual to see if you need DOT 3 or DOT 4 or DOT 5 .. Some cars use regular power steering fluid. Some use auto transmission oil. Manual will tell you what to get. 2 Bottles should be plenty for the power steering, as to the brakes, a lot depends on how long it takes to flush the lines and get the air out. Some cars are easy to do, others very picky.

You can get the 1997 model service manual here:
The car is basically the same thru 2001 in most respects

http://manualspace.com/toyota-...ory-service-manual.htm

It will be in a zip file .... Extract with password: manualspace.com

For that car Power Steering uses: ATF DEXRON® II or III

The brakes use: SAEJ1703 or FMVSS No.116 DOT 3
