fluid bearing fans

The Panaflo FBA- and FBL-series use an actively-pumped hydrowave bearing that probably qualifies 🙂

really? any links? because the normal panaflos everyone refers to most of the time are just fancy sleeve bearings.

Fluid bearing is really just modified sleeve bearing. Open up a sleeve bearing fan and there is a film of grease or something, which is where the name fluid/sleeve comes from. So, yes panaflos are fluid bearing.

Check out the PDF file on the Panaflos here. A fluid-dynamic bearing is an accurate description, with a simple eccentric-action pump to maintain oil circulation.
