Fluctuating vCore

Rig in sig. I did some overclocking last night, and ended up setting vCore to 1.475 in the bios in order to stabilize at 230 HTT for 2530 mhz.

Looking at CPU-Z the reading is fluctuating all over from as low as 1.37 to as high as 1.55. System seems stable so far. Chip idles at around 34c, stock cooling.

Is this possibly cpu-z misreading? Could my vCore really be jumping around like that?

Should I be worried about the peaks being over 1.5, even given that the chip is running fairly cool?

Bump... no comment on this? Searching the web I can't seem to find a conclusive answer as to whether this is a problem. Charting my vCore with Speedfan shows that it wobbles around between 1.42 and as high as 1.57 volts. The value set in the bios is 1.475. Is this likely just an effect of the monitoring chip? I have a voltmeter, but I am not sure which pins on the PSU to test.

Any insight appreciated.

I thought about that. Not sure how to tell. The fluctuations don't seem to be in response to any prolonged period of inactivity, and why would cool-n-quiet make the voltage go higher than spec'd in the bios?

A related question: I have seen advice that says you should disable cnq when overclocking, but I could not find any place to do this in the BIOS. I recall that when I installed the Gigabyte chipset drivers and other stuff from the CD that came with my mobo, I installed the cnq drivers, but I cannot find any entry to let me uninstall them. Maybe I should pop the cd back in and see if it gives me the option.

Did some more scouting around and I found a bunch of posts that finger the K8NS Ultra-939 as having a very unstable vCore. What I haven't found is any definitive statement as to whether its a problem. Everything seems to be running stable and relatively cool, but I don't want my CPU to flame out in a year.
