Fluctuating mouse sensitivity

I have an EPoX 8K7A+ and Windows2000 and everything with the exception of my mouse sensitivity is working great. I have a MS Intellimouse Explorer USB and have installed the most recent version of Intellipoint software from MS website. The problem is, everytime I restart my computer and I get back into Windows, the mouse sensitivity either goes up considerably or down considerably. Its not a huge problem as I can just goto the control panel and readjust the sensitivity, but its rather annoying. To clarify, the bar in the mouse control panel doesn't actually move more to the left or right but the sensitivity does go up and down. Any ideas?
