Flu shots..

When is the best time to get them? I really need a flu shot since I'll be on a ship for a month (research cruise) next month. I will also be in Taiwan for about a week.

I'm thinking about getting one as soon as today or tomorrow before the bumrush and/or when supplies run thin. Will they run out this year?



I think flu shots are a good investment because our workforce won't be affected too much from it this season if most everyone takes them. People get more money, economy flows, etc etc... Too much good than bad when we all take our flu shots.

I'd hate to catch one while i'm out at sea for a month.... ehh, I should really follow my hunch.. I'll be going on 3 flights to reach my destination before I board the ship. That's 3 planes full of people, and if one person has the flu, that'll be one miserable research cruise haha.

But I've never got one this early before.

Do they have multiple types of flu shots for each different strain per season? My worse flu season was last year when I caught the flu THREE times in three months. I didn't stop coughing until well into the summer (raw throat + california dryspell = miserableness).
