Had 101deg fever last night, chills and body aches and everything. Have a big campout this weekend and thought I was screwed, but the fever is gone already and I feel fine. Its nice having Tiger Blood.

I will take the flu over a standard cold any day. 18 hours is actually pretty good, mine is usually a day or two, but I rather suffer and be in pain for a day or two, than to have an annoying cold that drags on for months. Flu hits hard but goes away fast, while colds just drag on and on. If there was a vaccine for the common cold, I'd actually bother to go take it. Thankfully I don't really get sick that often though. Maybe every 2-3 years if that. The last time was several years ago when I got strep and it turned into a nasty cold.

That wasn't influenza.

Must have been affluenza.

OP I had that too a few months ago. Fever and then it went away in less than 24 hours. It was weird. Did you get a flu shot? Maybe it was the flu but you already had the antibodies against it.

Most "illnesses" people think they contract are just ups and downs in your body. Unless you were swabbed and tested, I doubt you were actually "sick", you were just experiencing a hiccup of sorts.

I had this happen about a month ago as well. So did my family, but most of them were sniffly and whatnot for at least a week after the initial fever. Take pride in your superior immune system, op.

I do not think OP had the flu if it was gone in less than 24 hours, but I wouldn't consider a 101 fever part of "ups and downs in your body".

I had something similar. Had chills, nausea and fever for 2 days, then it was gone. I rarely ever get sick... MAYBE twice per year. Usually when I get sick it's something more serious, though, like last year when I developed a tonsil infection that almost completely closed my throat and almost sent me to the ER :\

lol, the OPs Tiger Blood came from Charlie too. It was a special time in Charlie Sheen's life.

I've been over colds and severe illnesses pretty quick.

It turns out that doing what your doctor says by drinking plenty of fluids, getting your rest, and not skipping meals works better than OTC remedies.

I suppose that a healthy individual could beat the flu pretty quick. The swine flu that had been going around wasn't nearly as bad for some as it was for others.
