Got my first flu shot ever...two influenza strains and an H1N1 strain. I believe I already had H1N1 B or whatever was circulating in 2009-2010.

How soon do I become artistic? I don't know why my levels of art appreciation would change...but what am I to complain!

I also heard I now have goverment implanted tracking chips installed into me. Should I walk around in a faraday cage?

Supposedly the flu shot is in short supply...but I easily obtained mine (although this seems late in the season).

The chip won't move too far so just rub the spot with a SCSI magnet.

Its not late in the season. I also got mine, which I feel slightly bad about since I'm 25 and I should be able to handle the flu... but I got the flu 2 years ago and spent 4 days on the couch drifting in and out of fever dreams, do not recommend.

Why would you want to wing it and just 'handle it'? I don't understand that rationale at all that some people have. I'd rather just get the vaccine to become immunized than have to let my body fight it off 'naturally' and feel miserable.

There are some side effects to the flu shot. I saw on the news yesterday that a little girl became paralyzed after getting the flu shot. I never get the flu shot and I never really get sick. I did get a flu shot in Job Corp back in circa '99 and I got a splitting headache after having it which I now hear all these years latter is a side effect. They never said anything like that. They just asked us if we were allergic to eggs.

There are side effects that some people experience, but what are the odds of severe side effects? I'd hazard a guess that they are orders of magnitude less than severe side effects if you get the flu.

This is at least day 5 of the flu. Caught it from my older brother a week after we were both sick from something else that caused us to cough up similar gross stuff without knocking us out (a more mild flu?). I've been sleeping almost all day every day but I was still pretty bad today. So much for herd immunity: he had his flu shot. I hear that the nasal spray flu vaccine covered two additional strains this year. With our luck, those would probably be the strains we got. :(

I rarely get the FLU. When I do I usually recover quickly with no injections needed.

However, I probably just jinxed myself now.

No need for all that, just wrap your arm in tin foil. It'll block the tracking chip and has the bonus of being stylish. Like an arm band. As for the artistic, I'm afraid you misunderstand. Only your children will be artistic, it doesn't affect adults because reasons.

Because a lot of people don't even know what it's like to really have the flu, let alone one of the nasty strains that makes their allegedly badass immune systems work against them. They get colds or other seasonal illnesses and think that's the flu (when it's not). Or you have the stupidity that is "stomach flu" which isn't flu at all.

Ignorance abounds.

You probably haven't ever really gotten the flu then. That's actually not that shocking. The flu is prevalent but it's not like everyone gets it every year or anything. But stop acting like you're some badass because you've never gotten a flu shot and still haven't gotten the flu. Just makes you look like a dumbass that doesn't know what they're talking about. Also, getting flu shots is about more than just you getting sick or not.

Also, um, no shit. Seriously? Recover quickly with no injections needed? Jesus christ...

Yeah. I figured as much.

Another reason to get the flu shot: if you get influenza, you generally start shedding the virus (aka, you are contagious) a day before you start having symptoms. Someone could have the flu and unknowingly transmit it to others.

If it is like previous years, about 20,000 people will die from influenza in the USA this year. How many people in the USA have died from Ebola so far?

You're not one of those Texas idiots who is going to claim the flu shot causes the flu, are you? I'm guessing the lady you know was exposed to someone who has the flu, and thought, "I'll get the flu shot to protect myself." Unfortunately, the flu shot is not magic - it takes a bit of time until your immune system has learned from it and can prevent you from getting the flu. If she has the flu now, then she got the flu shot at a time when she already had the flu virus in her, but was not yet symptomatic.

If 30 million people get the flu shot, odds are a lot of those people will get the shot after they've already been exposed and just before they get symptoms. Then, they run around like idiots, claiming the flu shot gave them the flu, when that's an impossibility.

And what are we supposed to learn from your idiotic anecdote?

The the same thing my father learned when he took the shingles vaccine and almost head a heart attack from it, had heart palpitations for a month afterwards. If your stupid enough to have a mass produced virus injected in your veins that have other non FDA approved additives because Fox or CNN, or the CDC hypes it up. That's insanity, getting the shot every year to not get the flu but getting it, rinse and repeat every year. HERE'S YOUR SIGN dipshit.

No I'm not. I know that it has its purpose to those with immune deficiencies. But every year, everyone I know that gets the flu I ask if they got vaccinated. 99% did. Its a running joke of mine for the last 10yrs or so. I eat good foods, exercise, and take supplements for overall health. I work with the public all day in there homes so I am exposed to all kinds of crap.
