ok , like this "platonic" friend of mine, that was basically off limits, apparently doesnt have a boyfriend anymore and has been hanging out with me a lot more lately. A friend of mine told me after probably a month. Anyways, what flowers would you get.

Flowers? Please, you're going about this all wrong! Chicks today are interested in only one thing. So, how big IS it? Your wallet, of course. What did you THINK I was talking about??

id say roses would be a bad idea. chicks tend to read a lot into things (no offense to any present). But roses might be overdoing it. I would go with something less meaning full, roses are supposed to symbolize love. I would start with something like irises or just something that looks cool and save the roses till after you are "officially dating"

or better yet, find out somehow what her favorite flower is and get her those. shows you know about her and stuff.

Nope. It's one of those things I saw and decided to save it on my Palm pilot. You never know which flower you need.

1/2 dozen - 1 dozen roses is way too much unless it's a special occasion.
I always feel that a single red rose is more than adequate.

Red - passion
White - purity of love / peace
Yellow - happiness
Pink - love

I get sunflowers for my girl friends with whom I have platonic relationships

Forget the flowers, that's too obvious and weak; if you want her, be bold and don't beat around the (rose) bush.

Not sure why you want to get her flowers but I recommend a half dozen peach roses. They're pretty but not too romantic. (I am a girl, btw)

go for a mixture of flowers, but keep it simple with 3-5 flowers, and toss a single rose into the mix
girls just like getting flowers, so it really doesn't matter what the other flowers are, just don't go all roses or that will freak her out

I heard once on a radio ad:

Women love flowers, especially expensive flowers.
Hops are flowers.
Beer is made with hops.
Therefore getting a girl beer is just like getting her flowers.
And expensive beer is equal to expensive flowers!!!!

Armed with this knowledge, I'd recommend a 4-pack of guiness draft cans. It's not TOO expensive, but it is one of the finer beers and is a perfect expression of your desires.

I would recommend white or cream roses, anything but red (that's a little too romantic for this situation).

Or maybe a bouquet of colorful non-rose flowers.
