Flowers for guest - over the top or nice?

A friend of mine who I haven't seen for a few months ( a girl I have more than a bit of a crush on) will be visiting tonight before she flies to L.A. tomorrow. It's only a one day trip (she's visiting for 2 weeks next month) but I thought buying her some flowers would be a nice welcome back gesture - is it or is it a bit over the top?

Yup. And if that gets a negative reaction from her (which is highly unlikely), you don't want to pursue her anyway.

A bit over the top, but that just IMO.

What things, food or drink wise, can you remember she likes?

If so stock up on those few things. When she visits, say

"I don't usually have [fill in the blank], but I was at the store the other day when I remembered you really like them".

I don't think anything will impress her more without trying to be overly romantic than showing her that you are a thoughtful kind of guy...

I wouldn't do it if she were visiting me. where will she put them? now, if I were visiting her, then I'd do it for sure. I agree with MathMan and say get stuff/go out to places she likes.

Flowers are always liked.
Especially when they are flowers like daisys or sunflowers!

Thanks guys, especially Lola!

I gave her some daisies and she loved them - said it was so very sweet of me with a big smile on her face. Though I was mature and didn't make a move, considering she was only going to be here for one night before heading to L.A. - Instead of doing the intimate dinner date thing we went out dancing with some friends of mine. I think I got some nice jealousy points when a friend of mine did some drunken bootie dancing/raving with me while my guest looked from afar! But, yeah, that's my update - gave her the flowers but didn't try to be "romantic" - just showed her how friggin' fun I could be now that I'm taking anti depressants and am not afraid of dancing in public ;)
