Found these Flourescent econo lightbulbs at WALGREENS today, figgured I would share with you guys.

60 watt bulbs that use 13 watts of electricity. Replace all your bulbs and save the planet, and $$ in the process. Normally these bulbs are around 6 bux each, I found them at Walgreens in Bellevue for 2.19, with the affixed 2.00 off energy star coupon the total was 19 cents per bulb.

Here is a link to the product, it is the 60 watt bulb that was for sale.

B&M only and YMMV of course. They may not have the energy star coupons, but the ones I found had them preattached.

Enjoy!

i got a flyer in the mail from the Tacoma, WA Electric co. today, and it had a little blurb about cheap flourescent bulbs being offered at Walmart, fred meyer, kmart, home depot, true value hardware and lowes.

It implied it was "local" to the Bonneville dam, so this might only be regional

But for those in the region, this same/similar deal might be had all over the place

edit: btw... i got some 6months ago from walgreens and they seem pretty much like regular bulbs. I bought a different brand flourescent light several years ago, and it seemed like it took forever (60-90 seconds) to get bright. The ones I bought recently are bright right when they power on.

i wonder if california is included in this
ill have to call the local walgreens or the other stores to see
thanks op

anyone want to buy some for me and ship since they dont promote saving energy in Texas? 🙂 Will gladly pay shipping/cost 🙂

Checked in Walgreens in FL, only it's $6.49 for the 60 watt / 13w bulb, no Energy Star coupon, and no in store discount. Not that good of a deal considering I bought a 6 pack of GE or Sylvania 13 watt bulbs at Home Depot for about $9.99.

I know washington state has them. I havent checked lately though, I will have a look tomorrow and see if they still have the deal.

On a side note, Bartell Drugs in Seattle has the same type of deal, with the coupons attached, but they are 2.99 so you end up paying 0.99 for the same thing.

As for other states, I am not sure but after doing a quick search I see texas, and parts of the northeast in there. Just google your state and "energy star CFL coupon" to find out if it works for you.

Good luck!

can confirm these bulbs are awesome, i live in duluth Mn and about twice a year they are subsidised here and cost less than a $1 per bulb in all sizes. The best part for me is my outside light. In the winter when its very cold (read 20-30below) the outside light filament lasts about a week, guess that hot/cold thing doesnt suit it well. They say these new type wont perform well outside in the super cold, but decided for a buck, id try it anyway. Ive had the same one outside for a year now and its still going. These things ar great.
