I'm guessing the article wants you to think this is just a boy vs girl issue since that gets clicks but i suspect its more than that. Note the school just says 'distracted students' so i suspect they also know its not just the boys. My wife works at a school with an enforced dress code and I have helped enforce it as a volunteer at events. Boys just stare and sometimes giggle. Girls point, gossip, disparage and verbally complain (often overly loudly to be heard by everyone on purpose). In terms of overall disruption or distraction i wouldnt be surprised if girls were more involved than boys since boys would only tend to be distracted when viewing or trying to view the nipples while most girls would not even need to be around the other girl to be distracted

Just curious what authority do you have or do you see something and then tell your wife?

Yes, exactly. This conservative approach to dress codes is difficult. I'm in libtard MA, and there's a school in our district who is hard up on how girls dress so not to "distract" the boys. Even sleeveless apparel is unwelcome, and will render punitive actions. It's a school run by women too, but like repressed conservative women. It's mind boggling how they cannot see how that translates to more strict dress codes, and blaming women for men's sexual misconduct later on.

You want to see repressed, conservative women try nuns. I went to a catholic HS and the self-appointed leader of the uniform gestapo was a nun that absolutely hated female flesh. I could have come to school in a rainbow speedo and stripper heels and she would not have noticed or cared. But if a girl wore a skirt 1/4" too short the nun would want her boiled in oil.

Depends on the event and the offense. For example jeans are sometimes not allowed and thats easy. I tell them to go change and come back, leave the event or call someone for a change of clothes and wait off to the side/dont participate until they change. If they dont listen then a variety of punishment options would be handed down from their teachers or admin staff (and maybe their parents). So technically I cant force compliance directly but in practice they realize I'm a proxy for authority. I could do the same for 'too much cleavage' or 'skirt too short' (or send them to get the skirt measured if its close) but instead tell a female staff member to deal with it. Most of the male teachers do that so that seems the safest option for me too

As a, or just as a? Those are very different. I would suppose that you watch porn. Do you also think about the people and all their nuances, or do you just enjoy what you are seeing?
Neither? It's a human being, it's always a human being. Regarding porn, often times I do yes. I have no issue with porn, given that it's consensual and non-exploitative. If I run across porn that appears to be exploitative, I don't watch it, as it's not a turn-on.

Do you really just see women as a collection of parts, personality being one of those constituent parts?

So you have no trouble enjoying something that is one dimensional so long as the person consents to being used in that way? There is no interaction on a personal level. You are literally using that person for your personal pleasure. How is that not turning that person, in that context, into an object for your pleasure?

Do you really just see women as a collection of parts, personality being one of those constituent parts?

Yep, and so do you. Sticking with porn, do you pick ones where the women are overweight, or not pretty? I doubt that. I would bet that you choose women that are attractive because you enjoy that. You don't pick women that are smart, or funny, or caring. You don't research the people in porn. What you do is find the ones that have the hottest people doing the things you like.

Do you strike up conversations with just anyone about any topic? You probably don't try to talk about things with people that are uninformed but attractive. Why would you choose someone smarter or more knowledgeable when engaging about political issues, and not look for videos from porn stars?

The point is, you use people for the facets of what makes them up. You pick porn with pretty people. You talk to interesting people. You get help lifting something from strong people. To me, so long as you respect them, you have done nothing wrong. You are not allowed to force your will upon anyone, just as they cannot force theirs upon you. You can like one part, or many parts. You may dislike one part, or many parts.

How can I pick her for her astounding nipples if they're hidden?

Porn (and I'd classify consensual prostitution in the same boat) are a unique case where the 'actor' (as I'd classify it) is agreeing to do something for a specific purpose. That still doesn't make them an object though, they're still a person. To me, it's equivalent to watching a movie (in the case of porn), and I'm deriving something from each. That's not 'using' the person, it's viewing material. If someone 'used' that person as an object to make the material, I don't agree with it.

Admittedly I haven't watched porn in a while, but when I did, it was primarily a narrow focus of body type for both male and female. There's probably specific 'fetish' types that would include what you're suggesting, but that's even more objectifying as it's targeting a specific body type. I don't recall ever targeting any specific body type.
Do you strike up conversations with just anyone about any topic? You probably don't try to talk about things with people that are uninformed but attractive. Why would you choose someone smarter or more knowledgeable when engaging about political issues, and not look for videos from porn stars?
Huh? I'm lost here, if someone's knowledgeable about a topic I don't care what they look like. Why would that even input into the equation? Conversations tend to steer themselves if the topics don't interest a party, so I don't really know where you're going with this.

Are you suggesting that a porn star can't be knowledgeable regarding political topics? What job do you have that's so fucking enlightened to warrant you having a valid opinion?

Do you really not see yourself as more than a collection of parts? Do you have so little respect for yourself as a human that you're merely a mush of pieces, to be used and/or abused by others?

There is a solution. Make everyone go braless with nipple bandaids, and clear plastic shirts that streamline random nipple checkpoints.

Now that would work since they are all using clear backpacks now to.

But what if you have a third nipple can you show that one?

Most schools require dress that does not distract other students or faculty from the teaching and learning process. It makes sense really.

Perhaps, but this is not one of them. Both men and women have nipples.

And yet they have different statuses in our society as sexual objects. You can argue if that has anything to do with society or if it's cultural, but arguing that it isn't different is stupid. Our behavior clearly shows otherwise.

First, thank you for arguing the abstraction rather than the specific situation. Not done enough on this forum.

Now, as you know I have no disagreement with the fact that women and men are different. Men look at women's bodies in a much different way than the reverse (generally). What I disagree with here is forcing girls to hide the outline of their nipples. As someone already brought up, our society holds the idea that men need to learn restraint and deal with being aroused by others around them. If we stay at the abstraction level, what is the difference between seeing the outline of a nipple and makeup? Both can and often are sexually arousing to some extent.

So if we follow your argument, the line drawn would be arbitrary. I am not a fan of such things, so I would say we need to find a better way to draw a line. Equity would not be the goal as we both agree on there being differences.

There is somewhat of an argument about the distraction part. The problem there is that would mean you would have to make the "hot" girls dress down because they too are a distraction.

I have given no answer here, but, I think there must be something better than an arbitrary line.

It is arbitrary. It's culturally defined. And it is somewhat fluid. As I said, I don't think that they should necessarily have this particular dress code, but I think this is a fine dress code to have. It is reasonable within cultural norms today. That may oro may not be so in 50 years.

Looks like a publicity stunt. It's either distracting or it's not. You don't have to drool and stare at her to be distracted, silly. It's about attention redirection, however subtle. Only requires that you notice her once. Then the teacher needs to be that much more engaging! Only SJWs think you can train people to not think about sex, likely because of a protein deficiency. Dress restrictions do work, which is why we have louis vuitton hijabs.

If that were enforced fairly ugly students would have to wear bags.
You're entitled to your own fetishes but I doubt most horny teenage boys share them.

I'm wrong, many would screw a tree if it had a hole in it.

I would enforce a vigorous masturbation policy where young people MUST mastubate at least 3 times a day.
