"Breaking Bad" may have been one of the most popular cable dramas of the last decade, but one Florida mom isn't thrilled that Toys 'R Us is selling the show's action figures.

"I was very shocked and appalled," Susan Schrivjer said of when she saw the "Breaking Bad" action figures in her local Toys 'R Us, and on the store's website.

The figure of main character Walter White, a former high school chemistry teacher who becomes one of the biggest meth dealers in the country, carries a duffle bag filled with cash, and comes with a toy bag of crystal meth. The figure for White's assistant/meth distributor, Jesse Pinkman, comes with a gas mask to protect against dangerous compounds during meth cooking.

"Anything to do with drugs is not doing the right thing," Schrivjer said. "I just think that they need to look at their visions and values, as they call them."

So Schrivjer started a Change.org petition asking Toys 'R Us to stop selling the dolls. In less than a week, the petition received more than 1,000 signatures.

Some of the comments on the petition included:

"These dolls are ridiculous. ... They are NOT for children and do not belong on the shelves at Toys R Us."
"Completely inappropriate. Makes me wonder how much shopping I will be doing at Toys R Us."
In a statement, Toys 'R Us told NBC News that "the product packaging clearly notes that the items are intended for ages 15 and up" and "are located in the adult action figure area of our stores."

Thank goodness Toys 'R Us is responsible for the moral examples we teach our children. I was afraid I'd have to do it myself. OTOH, it's a stupid toy but not as stupid as a toy atm.

While I hate bored parents who tilt at windmills to fill their sad little lives, in this case at least the mother has a point. It's really in bad taste for Toys R Us to carry Breaking Bad toys. I think she's going to win this quickly and easily and you'll hear that Toys R Us is going to yank the BB merchandise off the shelves without a fight.

I can't believe anyone thought it was a good idea to even make breaking bad action figures. Its kind of funny to think about the scenarios kids would come up with when playing with them.

"...and now Heisenberg is bringing his special blue crystal meth to the drug dealers"

*walks Walter white figure up to a group of 'drug dealers' being played by transformer action figures*

"Meanwhile his wife Skyler is off having sex with her boss"

*a Barbie doll is shown lying on top of a GI Joe*

"Then Heisenburg kills everyone and takes millions of dollars from them"

*knocks transformers down*

"And everyone lives happily ever after"

*Walter white figure is shown with Barbie doll bent doggie style over a Lego block*

You forgot the part where the Jesse figure gets high and calls all the drug dealers bitch before Walter kills them. :D

If their kids don't watch Breaking Bad, why should any parent care? Obviously the kids won't know what or who these dolls are.

Allowing a child to watch this show is much worse than carrying dolls at Toys R Us. To me, this shows bad parenting as if a kid saw this doll on a toy shelf, why would he want it if he doesn't get to watch the show? Only bad parents who allow their child to watch this type of show are the ones who should worry, and for a kid who watches this show, playing with a doll isn't going to make much difference.

I say, leave the dolls in Toys R Us. I'm actually gong to stop by and buy one. I would love to have one for my desk at work. A great conversation piece. Perhaps I'll collect all the dolls. Thanks Toys R Us.

It being Florida and all I think that any mother would consider it important that their child understands the economics and power structures of the meth amphetamine distribution world.

I would hope this was in the "educational" section.

It's definitely an odd choice of toy to be selling to children. They seem like collectors items to me, that would be more at home in a comic store.

However, nobody is forcing parents to buy them for their kids.

Yes, can't the kids just go back to the pleasantly harmless activity of playing with little toy soldiers and pretend to be killing other people that way? Or maybe toy swords or other weapons that are traditionally used to kill?

:hmm:

100 years from now: Fisher Price's Ebola Emergency® play kit.

Still.....this is weird.

I guess it is possible to have action figures to teach economics and logistics.

Wait....people now have the ability to resist purchasing items that are placed in their field of view? Is this a new skill they're teaching kids in school? Amazing.

Here's another thought:
Why would the kids even want a toy for a show like that in the first place unless they had already seen the show at home?

If you're that easily confused and don't see the difference between fictional scary monsters and glorifying human criminals then I couldn't possibly explain why one is worse than the other in a manner that was dumbed down to a point that you could understand.

There's a reason why Dracula and Frankenstein are on the shelves in toy stores and Charles Manson and Jeffrey Dahmer are not. See if you can work it out on your own.

Bah.
The latter didn't have much of an advertising engine behind them. All they really needed was a good PR or marketing agency.

Pssst... Jesse Pinkman and Walter White aren't real either.

They are both TV shows that children shouldn't be watching. Just like you wouldn't let your children watch Breaking Bad or The Walking Dead, you wouldn't buy them the toys either.

She could just walk right past them on the shelves.
