I’m guessing it has something to do with the fact that the driver of the rig drove off with someone on the hood instead of waiting for police to arrive?

sounds like it was just a random mental health episode.

When he was sitting still, the guy was kicking in the windshield. If the truck driver was unarmed, I suppose he was hoping to avoid the guy actually making it into the cab.

The truck driver should have stopped, dragged the asshole off the truck and beat his ass while waiting for the police.

Dude hoping on the truck and pounding away, dude driving the truck for 9 miles and appearing to attempt to shake the guy off (on a major road) the truck for at least part of that 9 miles.
