-Several polls have shown now that Rick Scott would lose in 2014 if Charlie Crist became a Democrat and ran against him but our newest survey finds that Democrats might not need that high of a profile candidate to knock off Scott, at least if he remains this unpopular. 5% of voters in the state have a positive opinion of State Senator Nan Rich. Only 14% have even heard of her. And despite that she still leads Scott by 12 points in a hypothetical match up, 47-35.

Obviously that finding has a lot more to do with Scott than it does with Rich. His approval rating has sunk back down to 31%, with 56% of voters disapproving of him. One thing that hasn't done his popularity any favors lately is his push to eliminate some people from the voter rolls. Only 34% of voters approve of that effort to 50% who disagree with it.

72% of Florida voters support either gay marriage or civil unions, with only 26% opposed to any form of legal recognition. Even 61% of Republicans support some form of legal recognition for same sex couples.

A poll released earlier this week by Florida Opinion Research shows Crist besting Scott 48.1 percent to 34.1 percent.

Florida had baffled many in that demographics should have turned the state at least a tossup on the local level, yet the Republicans had still managed to keep the Governership and local legislature. Some speculation has said that it was because Charlie Crist's policies were actually Democratic party policies and kept the Republicans the majority which carried over onto Rick Scott, whose policies were completely different.

However, with Scott polling Bush numbers and unknown Democrats trouncing Scott in the polls his chances of keeping Florida red in 2014 are slim to none.

As long as Florida Republicans don't steal elections with their voter suppresion Florida is about to become Blue. In fact, it may be that the embarrassment of the voter suppression could swing some Republicans over to the Dems. Florida is the 4th largest state and has 29 electoral votes. More than 10 percent of what is needed to elect a President. And Florida is growing faster than average and may have even more at the next census.

You need to take ~5% off liberal positions (and give it to conservative ones) from PPP's polls. It's not that they are biased or something but they use cell phones for survey which skew the demographic nature.

Said that, I know of no Floridan who is fond of Rick Scott. (Republicans included)
