No, the founding fathers wisdom speak loudest.

Democrats led by emotion, and "for the children" are revealing just how willing they are to give up their rights, from guns to speech, nothing is safe from your "safe space". Its no surprise that in europe left wing parties are pushing for voting ages to drop to 16, they know their ideology appeals to the ignorant and easily led.

lol "revealing."
So you agree that the Obama administration lied to the FISA judge.

lol what a tool

Dunno if anybody is listening to the event with students and parents at the WH but it's some intense shit. Could actually be approaching a political inflection point on this issue.

Also FL state leg moving in the direction of some gun law changes:

The program that is getting the focus is called the Sentinel Program, which has been implemented by Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd at Southeastern University last year. It allows specially trained school staff to carry concealed weapons on campus to respond to an active shooter.

“The Sentinel Program has picked up a lot of steam on both sides,” Galvano said.

He said that increasing the wait times for military-style semiautomatic rifles to three days and age limit for purchase to 21, both currently in place for handguns, have also been key elements of negotiations. Authorities say the Parkland shooter, Nikolas Cruz is 19 years old and used an AR-15 to mow down his victims. He's facing 17 counts of premeditated murder.

“We have had some productive negotiations so far,” Galvano said. “We are moving quickly towards agreement, and think we can have something as soon as the end of this week.”

I'm watching it.

If you'd like to make it even more depressing, while watching keep in mind that literally nothing is going to be done about this besides maybe... possibly some token ban of "bump stocks" or something like that.

I doubt congress will do anything but state legislatures are another matter.

I have zero confidence that Americans will do anything about this until the death toll reaches epidemic proportions. I'm talking 10x as many deaths a year as we have now for multiple years. We are simply too far gone at this point. The public is just as brainwashed by gun industry propaganda as the legislature. Americans are gun crazy, you can see it on these very forums. The mere idea of banning large capacity semi-automatic rifles is the stuff of nightmares for multiple posters on this forum, which should be largely representative of Americans as a whole.

A Russian agent such as yourself would love to see a disarmed America. Sorry buddy, we aren't going to make taken over the beacon of Freedom all that easy. It is going to take a lot more than meme trolls to disarm America.

Each armed American is a torchbearer for freedom, we want the light of freedom to shine as brightly as possible in our land.

It’s a republican talking points meeting for the most part, they admitted meeting before the televised meeting. With the exception of a couple of students, it all follows repub script.

Trump Solutions to School Shooters:

1. Every teacher is packing concealed heat. Future school shooters would have to use a high powered rifle or something to get the drop on that armed teacher.

2. Give every school a mini TSA line. X ray machines, metal detectors, the works. A shooter would have to shoot every person at the X-ray with a high powered rifle or something because they wouldn't be able to sneak the gun into the school.

I remember sitting on my couch watching a countdown to the original AWB expiration in 2004. IIRC the argument at the time was that these were expensive, rare, and essentially never used in crimes so banning them was pointless. That is clearly no longer the case, and I don't see how anyone can avoid wondering how many of these guns were made and sold after the ban was lifted. I'd put pretty good money on the answer being virtually all of them.

I like guns well enough, though never enough to spend substantial money on them or avoid the distinctly anti-gun state I currently live and work in. I believe the second amendment was intended to be basically how it is interpreted today.

That said - The beauty of our constitution is that it is capable of being changed. If the gun crowd doesn't back down and start accepting some changes IMO they deserve to lose the right entirely. Participate in the democratic process or prepare to be run over by it, time is not on your side on this.

As soon as one student said ban assault weapons, an adult jumped up and said no, more guns is the answer.

I really enjoyed the Godfather and his 3 sons there. The ones that repeatedly thanked the President. Especially the one at the end who said "My sister died, and I think more guns is the answer".
